Great Plains Communications is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented person to fill the position of Project Manager.
Applicants must live in NE, IA, IN or CO only.
Duties include:
Will demonstrate the ability to effectively apply the project management knowledge/management areas across the five project phases. Will coordinate the efforts of team members, vendors, third-party contractors, and/or consultants in order to deliver the defined deliverables. Will assign projects, build project teams, develop, plan and execute project activities and facilitate all required project communication. Will efficiently manage change and ensure high quality control throughout each project’s life cycle.
This position will be responsible for:
· Serving as the project manager for telecommunications for business solutions.
· Managing the efforts of team members, vendors, third-party contractors, and/or consultants to produce the defined deliverables.
· Building project teams, and developing, planning, and executing project activities.
· Facilitating all required project communications in a timely manner.
· Efficiently managing changes and ensuring high quality control throughout each project’s life cycle.
· Sets and manages client expectations and manages all required client interactions.
· Develops a positive working relationship with client personnel that foster ongoing trust and positive interactions.
· Communicates effectively with clients to identify their requirements and evaluates the committed deliverable(s) to ensure it meets their expectations.
· Reviews final deliverables as prepared by the project team before passing to client for approval and acceptance.
· Seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen ongoing client relationships.
· Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives Remains on the forefront of new and emerging project management methodologies, practices, tools, standards, etc.
· Maintains at a minimum, a working knowledge of GPC’s Internet systems, transport network, CATV systems, client/server systems, critical corporate applications, and associated technologies/architectures.
· Possesses a thorough understanding of GPC’s customer service/support best practices.
· Attends technical training and related seminars in order to stay competent with the technologies commonly used by the company.
· Provides mentoring, training, and all required assistance for the development of project managers in other departments.
· Develops processes or acquires appropriate software tools that assist with all aspects of project planning, management, and reporting.
Successful candidate must have strong communication and customer relations skills, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
3-4 years of experience is desired. PMP certification and previous telecommunications experience is a plus.
