Great Plains Communications continues to grow!  We are looking for an organized, detail oriented and customer/team-focused person to fill the position of Mail Clerk.  This is a part-time position working less than 30 hours per week.

This position will Coordinate the processing of all company mail.  Sorts and delivers mail and packages to all departments.

Duties include:

¨      Picks up mail from the Post Office in the morning.

¨      Opens all mail for Accounts Payable, stamps with received date, and delivers according to alphabetical schedule put forth by AP.

¨      Completes a mail run in the morning, which means a walk-through of all areas of the building to pick up and deliver mail and UPS/FedEX packages.

¨      Brings outgoing mail to the Post Office before the end of shift.

¨      Operates postage machine and other mailroom and office equipment

¨      Ensures there is sufficient postage on the postage meter for the mailing of daily mail.

¨      Transfers funds electronically onto postage meter as needed.

¨      Informs Accounting Department when postage has been added to the meter.

¨      Shreds and copies documents for various departments and personnel as necessary.

¨      Maintains a neat and orderly appearance in the mailroom by storing boxes and delivering UPS and FedEX packages promptly and efficiently.

¨      Delivers all packages to the specified departments as soon as possible after they are received.

¨      Stores smaller boxes that are unpacked in the mailroom for future use.

¨      Presents a courteous, well-groomed and professional image to customers, managers, co-workers and others in work-related situations.

¨      Interacts and participates effectively with managers, co-workers, and others; affects positively the performance of other employees, including assisting co-workers and working to accomplish job and company objectives.

¨      Follows all company and safety policies and procedures outlined in the GPC Employee Handbook and Policy Manual and GPC Accident Prevention Manual.

¨      Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ability to operate mailroom equipment daily

Ability to lift 25-35 pounds daily

Ability to deliver mail to all offices by walking up stairs and to all employee areas continuously

 

High school graduate or equivalent plus 6-12 months experience preferred
