Great Plains Communications is growing!  We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented person to fill the position of Procurement Coordinator.

 

This position will Procure materials and supplies, equipment and other products associated with GPC and affiliates.  Purchases, receives, and distributes office and janitorial supplies and equipment.  Coordinates with internal parties to determine material and equipment needs. Compares and negotiates prices, applies general ledger codes, and verifies invoices from suppliers.  Resolves purchasing related issues.   

 

Duties include:

Interfaces with internal parties for the purchase of materials and supplies, processes purchase requisitions through the NISC system and submits invoices for payment upon receipt of materials.

Coordinates with various departments on material and equipment needs.

Understands GPC products and services to be familiar with purchasing needs for the company.

Strives to processes all purchase requisitions received within 24 hours of receipt.

Research vendor pricing on items, negotiate rates and places orders with vendors.

Tracks orders for appropriate turn-around time of product delivery to requestor.

Monitors open purchase orders and meets regularly with manager to review all items open for an extended period of time.

Research products, maintain relationships with field personnel, and attend periodic trade shows to be familiar with products used in GPC operations.

Codes all purchase orders and invoices with appropriate general ledger codes and departments prior to submitting for payment to AP.

Submits invoices for payment to AP timely.

Investigates and resolves purchase order problems, discrepancies, delays and errors with vendors.

Monitors timely delivery receipt processing by requestors.

Coordinates, tracks and monitors equipment repair orders and turn-around times. 

Interacts and participates effectively with managers, co-workers, and others; positively affects the performance of other employees, including assisting co-workers and working to accomplish job and company objectives.

Interacts with multiple departments and personnel and participates in group discussions, planning and projects.

Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of customer information.

Displays professionalism and enthusiasm on the telephone.

Returns phone calls immediately.

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

High school graduate or equivalent plus additional specialized training equal to two years’ college.  1-2 years’ experience desired.
